OKWU Baseball Splits With Ottawa

Oklahoma Wesleyan baseball split their doubleheader with Ottawa University on Friday.
OKWU took game one on a walk-off home run, 4-3, but lost game two, 5-4.
Offense late in game was the theme in game one, OKWU was tied with Ottawa at the end of seven innings, 1-1. Ottawa took a 3-1 lead going into the bottom of the eighth before the Eagles rallied to win it. Connor Hickey hit a walk-off home run to straightaway centerfield to win the first game.
OKWU got off to an early lead in game two, they led 2-0 after three innings. Ottawa turned it around with three runs in the fourth inning and two more in the fifth. OKWU came up just short in an attempt to rally back in the final two frames. Victor Sanchez led the Eagles at the plate in game two with three hits including a home run.
The Eagles after the split are 42-7 overall and 29-6 in conference play.
Saturday's start time has been moved up with the expected weather through the area. The series finale against the Braves will start at 9 a.m.
If Oklahoma Wesleyan wins on Saturday, they are the regular season Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference champions.
